The former UFC bantamweight Champion announced the news to the world when she walked out moments after the completion of the first ever women’s Royal Rumble match.

Once the face and one of the UFC’s biggest drawcards, Rousey’s move will likely herald enormous returns for the WWE.

Rousey appeared to roaring fans Sunday night in Philadelphia, appearing to challenge Royal Rumble winner Asuka to a fight at WrestleMania in April by pointing to a sign as Joan Jett’s “Bad Reputation” blared through the arena.

The enormity of the appearance quickly sent fans on social media into a tailspin but unfortunately, not all were happy with the big news.

Asuka currently holds the longest undefeated streak in WWE history and enhanced her reputation by claiming the inaugural women’s Rumble match, but fans didn’t take kindly to Rousey stealing the limelight with her big showing.

Of course the majority of wrestling and non-wrestling fans couldn’t quite believe what they were witnessing.

The sight of seeing one of the most dominant female athletes of all time walking down the WWE ramp and pointing towards the giant WrestleMania sign was all that the company could have hoped for.

While seeming to call out Rumble winner Asuka for a showdown at the companies biggest event, the likelihood is a meeting with current Smackdown Women’s champion Charlotte Flair.

Charlotte is the daughter of legend Ric Flair and, like her father, has dominated inside the ring since making her debut in 2015.

An epic meeting between one of wrestling’s biggest names and the newest shining star will drive ratings through the roof while also being a huge step forward for the women within the WWE.
