If we look in the past few years, Apple has been trying to set a foothold in the Indian market. We’ve also seen the world most famous company introduce buyback and exchange offers, and this time it has decided to make it even more lucrative. According to report by The Times of India points out that, now the company is offering buyback on iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus units with bigger discounts up to INR 34,000. This isn’t surprising as the company has missed the pre-order target in India.
Citing Apple’s trade partners in India, this report has also adds that Apple and its retailers are also going to buyback older iPhone models under the same scheme or offer issued by company. Ingram Micro has reportedly already introduced the buyback scheme in some Apple stores and retail chains in South India. And if we look at the other distributors will soon start offering the discounts. The iPhone 6s and 6 Plus were launched recently for a price starting between INR 62,000 and INR 92,000. But even before the devices went on sale, pre-booking figures gave a glimpse into a rather sluggish demand than expected. Firstly, the devices are priced too steep and previous year’s models are available at INR 8,500 to 9,000 cheaper. Source
